Remember me saying I was going to update this site more regularly? Well, I do actually have something else to update it with, so now’s the time!

As some of you may or may not know, ‘I JUICE YOUR BRAIN’ is an independent horror film written and directed by Jerry Lentz – which I have a small part in. I wanted to finally share the trailer for you guys, as I realise I hadn’t done so yet. (I’m the one saying ‘Yep’).

Here’s the trailer:

Last week’s book festival

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Fife Book Fest and bought a book last week – I know I’m terrible at updating my website, but I promise I’m going to try and be better! Will post another update soon about the new movie I am a part of, called ‘I JUICE YOUR BRAIN’. It’s currently in production, and quite exciting.

Also, if you missed out on a signed book, copies ARE available right here on my website – what a time to be alive! Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend, and stay frosty.

Come and see me at Fife Book Fest!

I’ll be signing books at the Fife Book Festival in Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline on Saturday 21st May. Come on down between 10am – 5pm to grab yourself a copy of Grassmarket Blood, Nightswallow or Escaping Dreams! There will also be plenty of other inspiring authors and stalls to check out. I look forward to seeing you there!

In Support of France, and a Reminder…

As we’re all still reeling from the horrifying and utterly horrendous attacks in Paris last night, I’m sure a lot of us are going to be changing our profile pics and doing our bit to clear away the racist remarks on our social media pages…

Just something to consider. These attacks have a clear purpose in mind, and that’s to widen the current gap between Islam and ‘the West’. To spread fear and contempt of each other, and to spark an Islamophobic reaction that brings out the very worst in humanity. Don’t let that happen.

By staying united in all of this, we can avoid giving the terrorists exactly what they want: to reinforce the idea we’re at war with each other over race, religion and whatever other differences we share as a people. Support each other through this, and don’t let fear and hatred win.

That’s all I have to say right now.

Illicit Ink Reading

Below is last night’s reading for Illicit Ink’s Toy Stories at the Bongo Club, Edinburgh. I really struggled to come up with something original to suit the theme, and the first thing I thought of was actually about an evil dildo… from the dildo’s perspective. Unfortunately, I decided I wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face, so instead we have ‘The Unfortunate Tale of Cornelius Clunk’ (or ‘The Elf That Killed Christmas’).

I’ll actually be uploading the full thing on Kindle within the next couple of days, with some awesome artwork from me old mucker, @fudgecrumpet. Here’s a sneak peak of the cover:

In Which I Jump on the Russell Brandwagon

My latest blog post for Secular View asks the question, ‘Russell Brand, Idiot or Genius?’. I felt the need to write this, what with all the latest goings on. I literally couldn’t stop myself; it was spilling forth like a tidal wave of righteousness filled with tiny crustaceans of support for this man. BTW: I saw his show ‘Messiah Complex’ recently – it’s really very good.

Birthday Thoughts

Today I became 28. In my head, that was always supposed to be some magical age where I’d be a proper grown-up with a proper woman’s body. I’d know what I was doing, I’d have control and I’d be happy. That’s what I used to tell myself. Now, I’m 28 and in a lot of ways, I have grown into that woman who is comfortable and confident in herself… but in other ways, I still don’t know what the fuck I’m doing, and I don’t have everything figured out. Having contemplated this however, I don’t see it as a bad thing. As a kick in the ass? Maybe, but I could be in a far worse situation than I’m in right now. Especially as, the last few weeks, I’ve finally moved over the emotional block in my novel, and realised who needs to die (also in the novel). So, onwards, shall we?

Illicit Ink’s ‘Sleeptalking’ (Bongo Club)

I’ve been getting some great reviews for Zombie Thatcher on Amazon so far, so if anyone reads it, I would urge you to do the same. So far I’m over the moon at the response this is getting, hoping to keep up the pace by promoting as much as possible.

I’ll also be performing at Illicit Ink’s ‘Sleeptalking’ event on Sunday May 5th at Edinburgh’s Bongo Club if anyone wants to come along. I’ll be playing the human embodiment of sleep, which should be fun… for me at least. Here’s the event on Facebook.
